How a Round Works — Betting Explained

Understanding the betting structure is just as important as knowing the hands. Each round at 5gbd follows the same flow:

Boot (Ante)

Before the deal, every active player places a mandatory ante called the Boot into the central pot. The minimum ante at 5gbd starts from ৳1 on electronic tables (for example, 3 Gods Fishing-adjacent card games) and varies by live table. The boot sets the minimum pot size and gives every player a reason to stay engaged from card one.

The Deal

The dealer (live croupier or RNG engine) distributes three face-down cards to each player, clockwise. Cards are not revealed until a showdown or until a player requests a sideshow.

Seen vs Blind

After receiving your cards, you choose one of two stances:

• Blind player — You have not looked at your cards. You bet half the current stake. This costs less but you are playing pure instinct.
• Seen player — You have looked at your cards. You bet at least the full current stake (double that of a blind bet).

You can switch from Blind to Seen at any time by picking up your cards, but you cannot go back.

Betting Actions Each Turn

• Pack (Fold) — Surrender your cards. You lose whatever you have already put into the pot.
• Show — Challenge an opponent to reveal cards. Only legal when two players remain. Both hands are revealed and the stronger hand wins the pot.
• Sideshow (Compromise) — Request a private comparison with the previous player. The loser of a sideshow must fold. Only available between seen players.

Showdown

The round ends either when all but one player folds (last player wins without showing cards) or when two players agree to a show. The stronger three-card hand takes the pot. If hands are exactly equal, the player who requested the show loses.
